Today I visited Brackenhall: Thinking of what seems to be needed/wanted. Had some creative thoughts on the way home.  What if:
We delivered THE GIFT, on a truck, a very large parcel, with a label "for you"...and leave it there, in the middle of the estate.... underneath the brown paper wrapping is a structure which looks like a large mirrored box,(we get this made) the mirror is a one way window (ie on the outside it looks like a mirror on the inside you can see out)..inside are remote cameras pointing outwards filming the response from anyone interested in The Gift. We could leave it there overnight and have the lorry pick it up in the morning, or better still have it delivered at night  (like christmas) so it is found in the morning...I assume people would unwrap the gift at some point and find the mirror. They would look at themselves, and respond. It would be a way of collecting images of people who engage with The Gift.
before the 2nd visit we do some introductory work, ie finding peoples favourite records.
2nd visit of The Gift...We deliver The Gift in a different street, this time it spews out music..favourite records from people we have met. Again done remotely. the mirrored box now contains speakers.
before the 3rd visit we meet and draw people.
3rd visit  The gift delivered in a different street, this time the box is turned inside out (ie mirror on inside, a bit like a shed can be put together back to front) so people can see what is inside.  This time it is a visual thing whereby we are inside, making gifts/prints/drawings/etc. and covering the walls with the images being made. This could be something like the portraits from meeting people.
4th visit The Gift becomes a living room, whereby people watch us, in our "home" at night like you watch your neighbours. one of the walls could be removed and people could come and have a cup of tea with us. we share.
This might be a nice introduction for collection, making films etc.
